Maggie’s - Maggie’s Manchester provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their families and friends in Greater Manchester and beyond, offering a programme of support that has been shown to strengthen physical and emotional wellbeing. Built in the grounds of The Christie Hospital, the Centre is a warm and welcoming place with professional staff on hand to offer the support people need to find their way through cancer. Maggie’s Manchester is a place to find practical advice about benefits and eating well; a place where qualified experts provide emotional support; a place to meet other people or simply to sit quietly with a cup of tea.
Beverley Taylor – our event host has performed with cabaret and original bands and as a solo artist for many years, both in the UK and abroad. Also, as a hobby, Bev sings with an 18-piece Swing Band!
Catherine Taylor – has performed with a Jazz band and as part of various singer / songwriter duos
Hallé Youth Orchestra Quintet – the Wind Quintet is made up of some of the principal players of the Hallé Youth Orchestra. Established in 2002, the Youth Orchestra offers talented young instrumentalists aged 13-19 years the chance to experience playing in a full symphony orchestra supported by professional musicians. The Hallé Youth Orchestra is generously supported by the Oglesby Charitable Trust, Angus Allnatt Charitable Foundation and The Radcliffe Trust. Members of the Youth Orchestra are delighted to be performing at the Didsbury Arts Festival today for what is their debut performance as a quintet. Flute – Lloyd Hampton; Oboe – Emily Critchon; Clarinet – Nathan Kenworthy; Bassoon – Guylaine Eckersley; French Horn – George Strivens.
South Manchester Operatic Society – Founded in 1955, South Manchester AOS is a musical theatre society based in Didsbury, South Manchester. Producing two musicals a year, one in the spring and the other in the autumn. The forseeable productions are scheduled to be performed at the Z-Arts Theatre in Hulme. The society have won several awards over the years at both the NODA's and The Manchester Musical Awards.

Open House by Cecile Elstein, Ed. 20, print size H 122 x W 94 cm, is part of a series of 30 experimental images created in Manchester by Cecile Elstein, and printed, between 1986 and 1988, in Cambridge, with the master printer Kip Gresham. These screen prints, including Open House, were presented in Manchester at the Whitworth Art Gallery in 1991, 15 March - 27 April, as part of the exhibition: ’A Printmaking Partnership: Cecile Elstein & Kip Gresham.’ Framed. Exclusive ‘Manc’ hand-upholstered bench by Nellie K. This bespoke piece is a wooden bench with arms and back, hand- upholstered by local furniture upholsterer Sarah Kelly. The piece is finished in an exclusive fabric including bumble bees and symbols representing Manchester.
